PEERSHOTS LLC ("PeerShots," "we," "us," or "our") operates the PeerShots mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, display name, username, password, and profile photo when you register.
- Profile Data: Bio, category, location (city/state/country), and profile settings you choose to provide.
- Content: Photos, videos, captions, and other materials you upload or post to the Service ("User Content").
- Communications: Messages you send through our chat feature, support inquiries, and feedback.
- Payment Information: When you subscribe, tip, or purchase content, payment is processed by Stripe or Apple/Google (via in-app purchase). We do not store your full credit card number. We receive transaction confirmations, subscription status, and payout details.
- Creator Payout Information: If you are a creator receiving payouts, Stripe Connect collects identity verification, bank account, and tax information on our behalf.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers.
- Usage Data: Features used, content viewed, timestamps, and interaction patterns.
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect location data to tag content and show nearby posts. You can disable location access in your device settings.
- Camera & Microphone: With your permission, we access your camera and microphone solely for content creation (photos and videos).
- Photo Library: With your permission, we access your photo library to let you upload existing media.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Sign In with Apple / Google: If you sign in via Apple or Google, we receive your name, email, and a unique identifier. We do not receive your Apple/Google password.
- Stripe: Transaction status, payout confirmations, and Connect account verification status.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Process transactions (subscriptions, tips, content purchases, creator payouts)
- Display your profile and content to other users
- Send service-related communications (account verification, security alerts, payment confirmations)
- Enforce our Terms of Service and content policies
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
- Improve and develop new features
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not use App Tracking Transparency (ATT) frameworks.
3. How We Share Your Information
- Public Content: Your username, profile photo, bio, and public posts are visible to all users.
- Subscribers: Subscriber-only content is visible to your paying subscribers.
- Payment Processors: Stripe processes payments and creator payouts. Apple and Google process in-app purchases. These processors have their own privacy policies.
- Service Providers: We use Sentry (error monitoring), Expo (app distribution), and standard hosting infrastructure. These providers process data solely to provide their services to us.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we anonymize your personal data and cancel active subscriptions. Content you posted may be retained in anonymized form. Financial records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years).
5. Your Rights
5.1 All Users
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: Update inaccurate information via your profile settings.
- Deletion: Delete your account from the app (Settings → Delete Account). This anonymizes your data and cancels subscriptions.
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
5.2 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To exercise these rights, email support@peershots.com. We will respond within 45 days.
5.3 European Residents (GDPR)
Our legal bases for processing are: contract performance (providing the Service), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service improvement), and consent (location, camera access). You may withdraw consent at any time via device settings. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
PeerShots is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, please contact support@peershots.com.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
